Seminar on weight reduction and design optimization of automotive components - Presenting latest technology to reduce weight and increase strength of automotive body and parts --
- Seemingly "mature" structural member design (weight, stiffness, fatigue, eigen-frequency) can still be improved. Take a look at numerous examples!
- Non-linear analysis is important for design optimization!
- Presentation by Bridgestone "Design optimization examples of antivibration rubber parts"*
- Latest application examples in European automakers are presented!

We thank you for participants and staff of this forum.
In automotive industry, reduction of weight is an important issue because there is a need of making cars more fuel efficient in order to protect environment and save energy. Meanwhile, improvement of safety and ride quality is as important as ever too. Traditionally, numerical analysis with repeated trial and error of design parameters has been employed to improve design, but such a method is beginning to see its limits in bringing in more design improvements and increasing efficiency of engineering work.
In this seminar, we are going to present the latest methods of design optimization that are employed in European automotive industry. In addition to that, Mr. Kenichiro Iwasaki from Bridgestone Corporation is invited to make a presentation about their design optimization approach and examples of design optimization of antivibration rubber parts. *What's more, we are going to present structural design optimization methods used for turbomachinery and other types of industrial equipment too.
We hope to see you in the seminar.
*The user presentation is featured in Nagoya and Tokyo venues only.
