(NEW) Turbomachinery and Marine Engineering Solution Forum 2009
- Showcasing the latest CFD technologies for designing Turbomachinery,
marine equipment and ships -
May 13, 2009(Wed) 10:00-17:20(Registration starts from 9:30-)
Organizer: VINAS Co., Ltd.
Introduction
Dramatic improvement of computer hardware and upgraded simulation technologies are leading to more demands on CFD-based design processes to improve product performances by finding out more about real-world physical behavior as accurately as possible, and this is expected to be achieved by grasping fluid behavior in detail through the use of real geometry and large-scale, unsteady analysis and by using multi-physics simulation. Taking this background into account, VINAS adopted its corporate mission of offering the best solutions to assist improvement of product performances, and continues to offer highly specialized technologies to different fields of expertise.
We are now pleased to announce the upcoming “Turbomachinery and Marine CFD Solution Forum 2009”, which has been enabled by support from both domestic and overseas users in academic institutions and industries of aerospace, automobile, heavy industry and industrial equipment.
With a focus on Turbomachinery and marine equipment, for which highly specialized analysis methods and evaluation technologies are required, this forum introduces the latest CFD analysis methods and design technologies and offers presentations of research and development achievements by leading overseas and domestic technologists.
On top of that, we invite Dr. Charles Hirsch from NUMECA International, who has led the advancement of CFD in academic and practical areas for many years, to give the keynote lecture on “Trends and features of CFD in industries and challenges for the future”.
Presentations by overseas and domestic researchers include;
-Rolls-Royce(Germany), Mr. Marius Swoboda
“Application of Non Linear Harmonic method and turbulent transition model to design of axial compressors and its verification”
-Ecole Centrale de Nantes(France), Prof. Michel Visonneau
“Overview of an original solver for marine vessels, its analysis method and its verification results in terms of scaling effect, seakeeping performance and maneuverability”
-National Maritime Research Institute of Japan, Mr. Takanori Hino
“Application of unstructured hexagonal mesh to the marine vessel external flow field solver ‘SURF’, which supports unstructured mesh, and its verification results”
NUMECA International(Belgium), the developer of FINE/Turbo, FINE/Marine and so on, presents new application examples of CFD-based design of Turbomachinery from various countries in its presentation “Current status and challenges of CFD-based design of Turbomachinery in Europe/US”.
After the forum sessions, participants are invited to a reception party, in which you can be acquainted with each other and exchange useful information.
In addition, we offer a hands-on seminar of FINE/Turbo, FINE/Marine and FINE/Hexa on May 14th exclusively for the participants of the forum, so we recommend you to attend both the forum and the seminar.
With confidence, VINAS recommends this forum to not only those who are involved in CFD-based design of Turbomachinery and marine equipment but also all CFD/CAE engineers. We hope to see you in the seminar.
